Ashtanga Standing Series

Welcome in the autumn energy with this seven-week yoga series. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, start your day with an invigorating Ashtanga Standing Series. We will borrow from the Ashtanga Primary Series to practice the standing poses, backbends and finishing sequence.

Time for meditation, pranayama and savasana will round out this 75-minute morning sequence.

Online Yoga Teacher Training

Yoga Teacher Training Online! Bring the entire 200hr Yoga Teacher Training curriculum to you.   Yoga Alliance-certified Yoga Teacher Training. If you’re interested in teaching yoga, this is the first step. This part-time self-directed schedule features 200 hours of learning and practice teaching.

The program is an introduction to: 

  • pranayama
  • asana
  • meditation
  • philosophy of yoga
  • history
  • seva (community service)
  • kirtan (chanting)
  • eight-limb path of yoga
  • teaching to special populations
  • introduction to chakras
  • and more…

After completing 200 hours of training with Taiga Yoga School, you’ll be certified to teach yoga and you’ll have insight into which aspect of yoga most interests you! There’s something for everyone in this program.

Prenatal Yoga – October 2019

Attention all my pregnant friends, new and old. I’m teaching prenatal yoga on Wednesday nights at Taiga Yoga. The yoga part will be scaled to your experience level and current mobility. Every pose will have options. There will be a flowing sequence based on the ashtanga chandra namaskar (moon salutation). There will be time to get to know the other preggos and also time for meditation, pranayama and savasana. There will be music.

My intention is to create a joyful retreat on your yoga mat where you can practice the yoga that suits you and get to know some moms-to-be.

Yoga Teacher Training 200 hr

The second round of Yoga Teacher Training is happening this fall.

For the autumn, I’ve created a part-time evening and weekend program that will fit into your busy life. Here’s the deal:

You get an unlimited membership at Taiga Yoga (valid until December) to do your practice, and then three evenings per week, we meet as a group to discuss the history, philosophy and modern application of yoga. We’ll also practice teach, examine how to teach different populations and practice seva (community service) and kirtan (chanting).

Morning Yoga Workshop – October 2018

Happy almost-autumn yogis! I’m teaching another morning workshop this fall in Yellowknife, NT at Taiga Yoga and Therapy Centre.

The workshop is 12 classes, each an hour long. The sequences will be based on familiar yoga poses, but will have advanced options. Beginner yoga students are welcome to sign up, but please be prepared for a challenge!
